I can see why you would feel that way. I'm guilty too of watching Jimmy's story and Splash attack before watching any of your other stuff. The internet sort of works on fads more then talent more times then we would like. That's just a solid fact.
But, if it's any consolation, after I saw Jimmy's story and Splash attack, I watched all your other stuff. I watched all of Unforgotten Realms, all of Time Gnomes, and even that Crystal Water movie. And I laughed my ass off. I mean that in the most literal way possible....short of hospitalization.
But hey, the real reason you should be making anything is because you enjoy it. If you don't want to make these movies any more because it's no loner fun for you, that's fine. But, if you choose to keep making them, enjoy what you do and take solace in the fact that plenty of people will still watch them and laugh their asses off. Not as many as you like, but hey, you're still making people laugh 8D.
But for the love of God, finish Unforgotten Quest. I'm tired of trying to break the record of drinking 10,000 virtual beers.
You are right in many ways. Some series do not get the recognition they deserve. I understand and respect your opinions and you should pursue what you believe in. One thing that I would like to point out about WoW is that it is an insanely popular game, so it is bound to attract more views. Especially on Youtube, one of the most popular sites around now, with a video about one of the most popular games today. Also for Splash Attack, most of those lines were catchy and memorable. Because of that, it was easy to repeat and even easier to catch on. Almost everyone nowadays played Pokemon and knows how bad Magikarp is. As my friend put it, its 5 year old humor for a 16 year old's mind. Naruto videos which copy family guy jokes, have gotten even more views from some of the most popular NG artists. Just yesterday, I saw one of TLGmedia's videos with only about 200 views, yet it did phenomanally well on NG.
Now, the Unforgotten Realms are very popular as well. You've won many awards for them, and I even believe you won money in NG's Christmas contest. I think you're doing very well, earning awards, money, AND being known. Many flash artists I know would kill to have what you've done. Your Unforgotten Realms flash is also popular. I post frequently on NG, and lines from the flashes are repeated. Not as much as Magikarp, but i've seen it around.
I think you SHOULD follow what you believe in. If I made flash for the viewers, rather than myself, I would probably hate the things I make. I for one, will continue viewing your creations. Be it on YouTube or NG, be it Unforgotten Realms or something else, I will continue to watch your Flash creations. The reason I do this is because I enjoy what you make, and Im a huge fan.
So in conclusion, I hope NG does give original content more exposure.

I love this new system of blogs on newgrounds. It's very very cool as I was surprised to see feedback the day after it came back.
As I said I would love to keep releasing new movies in the future on Newgrounds but that might not even be an option anyway as it's becoming harder and harder for me to stick with a .swf file at the end of it. Will see what the future holds either way.
well, maybe JUST maybe its because your Splash Attack video is better than your others.
and to be honest, getting Front Page is a big booster straight up. alot more peoples see it on front page, so its get more votes.
To say Splash Attack is the best thing I have created is insulting on so many levels. I'll admit while it was fun to make, I spent very little time on it and it's just a quick joke.
While I understand people are simply trying to be nice saying "Splash Attack is the best thing you have ever done!", it's also a slap in the face. Tom even straight pm
'ed me telling me I should do more movies just like that one which while nice is also pretty insulting to tell me to stop making orignal cartoons and stick to parodies. I think theres enough Mario and Sonic movies for me to just skip that whole topic altogether.
I love Unforgotten Realms. Continuing it or stopping it is your decision, but I hope that if you do end it, at least make one more to end the story. Would suck to leave us hanging. I believe it is your best work, but that's just me. Well, whatever you do, I hope to find more great work from you.
although i do kind of agree with you, you have to realize the majority of the general public is retarded and easily amused by stupid things. While i enjoy movies such as splash attac0,k i enjoy series animations much more. Unforgotten Realms is hilarious so even though your discouraged please don't leave all the fans out and move on to just stupid movies, at least let the fans find out when the heroes get to mount norrington.

If you made a DVD of a bunch of new unforgotten realms episodes, I'd buy it, hahaha. I don't think it's newgrounds that glorifies the faads, I think it's the internet. Anyways, whatever you do, have fun with it, and good luck.
I don't get how Splash Attack got in the front page anyway, I think it's the dumbest thing you ever made. Despite that I think that Unforgotten Realms is the best thing that ever happened to Newgrounds. The problem is that people are less familiar Dn'D then they are with Pokemon. I love Unforgotten Realms but I also respect your decision. It's sad watching both you and LegendaryFrog getting discouraged but I try my best to stick for you guys.

wah? bu! aga! don't leave TT.TT i absolutely luv your work and so do my mates. it's quite possible that splash attack is just used as a way to your profile or other flashes and they also might just feel like watching it a little.
youtube is probably much more popular than newgrounds and there are tons of people just clicking on random submissions there.
also remember you are still entertaining 10s of thousands of people with your submissions and making them laugh their heads off.
Whatever you choose is your decision (obviously) but i hope you choose to continue them.
Man that suxs. But you are so right; unforgotten realms was a hundred times better than splash attack; and thats a slight exaggeration... Unforgotten realms is like 100021312312x better than Splash (hell, It goes as high as #3 of my fav flashes, and I've got alot heh!). Nothing will keep you here, but you've got a right to do what you are doing; originality in a continuing series is not often rewarded on newgrounds sadly! I'm just glad I watched unforgotten realms before "splash"! I'll tune in to your Youtube stuff whenever you post something new, and I wish you the best with all your creative works! You are t3h awesome!

I didnt use spell check either... But I did compare where I typed series to where newgrounds has it at the headerbar...
It would be a bummer to see you go - I've always loved UF and have been quick to front page new episodes! It can be tough for original series, but UF has done well. And when I said you should make more stuff like Splash Attack, I didn't mean you should do it INSTEAD of UF, I just meant that I loved it (the whole random sequencing was novel) and would love to see more crazy stuff like that.
I know it can be discouraging to see a fad outperform something you worked hard on, but that's how it goes a lot of times on the internet. Think of it this way - that fad exposed a lot of new people to your work, who in turn may have become fans of UF. When I meet people who are fans of my stuff, everyone has a different intro point - maybe it was Telebubbies, FDA, Pico, Assassin, Club a Seal or Alien Hominid. Whatever it was, there is always one intro point, and they might not have noticed me otherwise. It's good to mix it up, because once you win a fan, that fan will take a greater interest in everything you do, even the stuff that originally might not have caught his attention.
But what else can I say, YouTube gets more views. You can always just stick your video in an SWF and submit to both sites.
Swf to Video almost feels cheating to me and how could I cheat on a classy lady like Newgrounds. Trust me when I say this but if there is ever a chance that I feel I am able to submit something to Newgrounds I would do it in a second.
Use a splash attack!
Even if you decide you'll stop making them, could you please like, make an ending, or another episode to continue from if you decide to come back.
